Meshing and AI
This panel will address several questions about applying deep learning to enhance design-to-simulation pipelines, explicitly focusing on geometry simplification and mesh generation. We will explore how to adapt various AI techniques to handle different geometries and physics, emphasizing the necessity of robust expert validation to build user trust. Evaluation metrics are needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency while managing uncertainty in AI-driven modifications, which are essential for reliable simulation results.

Looking Forward
The Looking Forward panel explores the questions important to the future of the IMR. Each panelist will give their own view on what questions are important and how they should be addressed. Questions, opinions, and feedback from all attendees are solicited. Example questions include the following. What have been the goals of the IMR, and what should its goals be in the future? Who is the IMR made up of today, and which groups should we be reaching out to and how? How can the IMR be more welcoming to students? How can the IMR be more valuable to the participants and their sponsoring institutions? What are the outstanding and pressing technological needs for meshing, and what are the external waves (e.g., AI) we need to navigate and ride? What IMR activities best support those goals, e.g., papers, research notes, panel discussions, birds-of-a-feather, banquet, and new activities? What is the best format for these activities, e.g., ranging from double-blind reviews to no reviews?
